the church of San Luca and you arrive there from the piazza,
where there is a private parking space, up a flight of about
80 steps. Going through the old eighteenth-century doorway
you enter the large private 100 sq.m terrace, from which you
can enjoy a beautiful panorama of the whole of the gulf of
Salerno and of a part of the village. It has been furnished
with comfortable modern pieces and equipped with all modern
conveniences. The beach at Praia (pebbles) is about 2 Kms
away and offers not only several typical local restaurants,
but also a boat-hire service and a sub-aqua school. It can
be reached by car or using the convenient public transport
facilities that offer a very good service. The general food
shops can also be reached on foot. Positano is about 6 Kms
from Praiano and can also be reached by a convenient public
transport service in order to avoid parking problems. Amalfi
is also 6 Kms away and Sorrento 23 Kms. Praiano is at the
centre of the Amalfi Coast and is an ideal base for trips
throughout the area.
