Detailed description
Praiano can be seen from most of the Amalfi Coast, and is perched high on a promontory that goes straight down into the sea, as if symbolically dividing the gulf of Salerno into two. Praiano is a peaceful, old village scattered about the slopes of the hill along lanes and flights of steps. In the upper part, in a very panoramic and secluded position, lies Villa Torre a mare, a very nice, typical independent house, renovated in the 1990s, with access from the little piazza. The villa has everything that you might need and has very good-quality furnishings. It is equipped with washing-machine, TV and stereo with CD-player. The kitchen, too, has been equipped with all necessary accessories. From the terraces you can enjoy a splendid view of the sea and the gulf. The beach at Praiano can be reached not only on foot along typical local lanes and flights of steps in about fifteen minutes, but also by car or, in the summer months, by public transport. Praiano is one of the most attractive places on the coast, the inlet is enclosed by high
cliffs dropping sheer into the sea, with a pebble beach, a little piazza with typical fisherman's houses, a romantic path carved into the rock that runs along a stretch of the coast and several restaurants that offer local cuisine. Praiano has all the services you might need and lies about 7 Kms from Positano, which can also be reached by convenient public transport.

"Just returned from the Torre a mare villa. Was there with 2 girlfriends. We had the most amazing time. Lots of walking, lots and lots of steps. Amazing view. Ed, the fellow who looks after the villa, is amazing and very helpful. He is friendly and knowlegeable and will help you any way he can.
We would return in a heartbeat."

"We enjoyed our stay at Torre a Mare very much. The accomodation is exactly as described and the photographs are very accurate. We would however make the following suggestions:1. Either arrange for resident parking within the price, or describe the parking (or absence of it )more accurately. 2. In view of distance to the shops - a welcome pack containing toilet rolls, washing up liquid, bread, coffee milk butter would be very helpful particularly for those arriving late in the day. 3. The location of the villa is remote from the village (peacefully so!), and this should be made more clear in the description.
Torre a Mare is beautifully situated, in a peacefully remote part of the village. With a pool it would offer an idyllic hide away!"
